 Prepping for the countdown

  Mid downing

To all our shock Robertson wins!

Steph's parents took a group of us out for dinner in a private kitchen which is basically someones house but is laid out like a mini resturaunt. There was an urban myth floating around that if challenged the chef (the woman in the photos) would race you to down a beer.

Robertson (white shirt in the middle) being the competitive sort asked her and she agreed to the challenge. We were all a little nervous and rightfully so as she beat most of us. Robertson stepped up to the mark though and beat a supposedly undefeated chef.

Even Steph's dad was in on the action.

As you can tell Roberson was a gracious winner!

Back to out 15 course dinner after this mid meal interval.
Hello big boy!
Dan lives on this little paradise of an island, a 20 minute ferry ride from Hog Kong Island. This is his local beach as the sun starts to drop. A couple of Tsingtao beers was the cherry on top.

At the races, we lost but had a disgustingly good view of the whole course and Hong Kong in the background.

Great to hang out with Danny and Steph!
Mandy reads this, turns to me and says:

'So does that mean Hong Kong has the least amount of history then?'

A simple delicacy in Macau, 'egg tarts'. From the Portuguese I believe but they are a massive hit not only with the visitors but the locals too. The que was out the door with egg tarts being in such high demand. I was highly recommend the egg tarts but I have to say I was not the biggest fan. I loved the pastry but the eggy bit, hmmm.. It was a bit like scrambled eggs in a tart!

Whilst still on our lovely trip to Macau we visited the biggest casino there, also known for being the second largest building in the world, the 'Venetian hotel'.

As you can see they have recreated a mini Venice inside the hotel complete with a fake sky water canals and gondolas. Again simply serial!

The bright lights of the 'Venetian hotel' ahead is also where we all dabbled in a bit of gambling. Some losing more than others. But it must of been our lucky day as Alex won $600 which is about £40 having only putting £2 on the table. So we can't complain as it paid for the majority of our day!
